A Wish Upon A Wheel

I waited and I waited some more,
I made a run on hope,
And she made me trip and falter,
As I went right up the slope.

When all that's left's a wish,
A wish upon a wheel,
That someday we'll get away,
And you'll be mine to steal.

She saw my life a closed book,
And I read her every page,
Her eyes ne'er looked past through me,
Though my love didn't need a gauge.

And there's a wish that's left as yet,
A wish upon a wheel,
That someday we'll drive away,
And you'll be mine for real.

And there's times when I can't help but think,
Of what could have been ,
And there's times when I can't help but think,
I missed the things I should've seen.

And there's a wish that's left as yet,
A wish upon a wheel,
That someday fortunes will change,
And you'll be mine for real.

Seven Steps To Redemption

Seven steps to redemption,
Seven ways to get me to heaven,
And on a cloud I see a light,
Those seven steps are gonna get me there tonight.

There came a day when noble thoughts were all alone,
There came a time when winds could eat you to the bone,
And I could tell that there was just one way in sight,
Those seven steps, I'd have to really get 'em right.

Seven steps to redemption,
Seven ways to get me to heaven,
And on a cloud I see a fading light,
Those seven steps just have to get me there tonight.

So I got in line to reach eternity,
The devil smirked as people lost all sanity,
Yet the growing light was giving him a real fright,
He knew that seven steps was all it took to make it bright.

And then there came a ray of warmth that cut the devil through,
His life had just grown shorter and his horns were turning blue,
Yeah, everyone just rubbed their eyes in pure delight,
Coz' we won't be needin' any seven steps tonight.
